WHAT IS NEXPAGE?
Today, if someone wants to read a book but does not know the language, they are limited to what they can find on Google. This is unacceptable because it is difficult to even know what to search for, and hiring a translator for this purpose is prohibitively expensive.
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to gain knowledge and learn about other cultures without being limited by language or distribution barriers. We envision a world in which someone in the United States can get key ideas in English from a book originally written in Chinese, and someone in Indonesia can get key ideas in Bahasa Indonesia from a book originally written in Japanese.
Having worked in North Asia, we discovered a treasure trove of knowledge not available on Google, Wikipedia, or Amazon. The topics range from Business Management, Biographies, Self-Improvement, Entrepreneurship, Relationships, among many others. We felt it was a shame if such knowledge remained locked up and inaccessible to the rest of the world. Hence, we started NexPage to make learning accessible to English readers.
However, in a recent survey, researchers found that the average full-time American employee works 47 hours a week with only 19 minutes a day devoted to reading. Additionally, as more people work from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, lines blur between work and personal life, and people are increasingly getting burnout from work. With so little time set aside for reading, we wanted to provide people with knowledge to enrich themselves without eating into the time they reserved for other activities.
We are helping make this world a reality by producing high-quality summaries of the best nonfiction books from around the world and delivering them in the mother tongue so that people can save time while reading in their preferred language.
